Anti-Christian Obama Administration Handed Defeat By Supreme Court
This week, the U.S. Supreme Court handed the anti-Christian Obama Justice Department a defeat over religious liberty.
The case involved Hosanna-Tabor Evangelical Lutheran Church and School vs. EEOC(which is dominated by a lesbian activist named Chai Feldblum).
The DOJ sought to eliminate the “ministerial exception” in employment discrimination law. This permits religious organizations to terminate employees who perform religious responsibilities.
The majority opinion, authored by Chief Justice John Roberts maintained that the First Amendment dictates that the right to exercise religious liberty is more important than protecting employee rights against discrimination.
Said Roberts: “The interest of society in the enforcement of employment discrimination statutes is undoubtedly important. But so too is the interest of religious groups in choosing who will preach their beliefs, teach their faith, and carry out their mission. When those principles are in conflict, the First Amendment has struck the balance for us.”
