Shabbat Shalom Dr.Willis Henry,
A couple of weeks ago when Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was in
the United States visiting the White House, he was interviewed about his life as the
leader of the tiniest nation in the Middle East surrounded by enemies such as Iran
that want to wipe Israel off the face of the map.
When Larry King asked Netanyahu: “You live in the center of a hostile world. Are you ever able to relax?”
The Prime Minister replied: “Yes, Sir, I am. Every Saturday on our Sabbath, I have a day off.
So every Saturday, I take an hour and a half to read the Bible.
I draw enormous strength as well as relaxation from this quiet time.” He added that sometimes he spends
this time with his 15-year-old son, who incidentally won the national Bible knowledge contest in Israel this year.”
Man praying at the Wailing Wall
willis, tonight at sundown starts the Shabbat (Sabbath), so I encourage you to take some time to read
the Word of God, and be blessed.
Enjoy the weekend and rest in the Lord, for He gives us His strength, and Peace.
If you’re wondering what to read, Jews around the world read the weekly Torah portion which
this week has been: Parsha Re’eh – Deuteronomy 11:26 – 16:17
